We arrived on Friday just after mid day in warm sunny weather. We were welcomed by Mel and Mark and then it was legs down ,have lunch then a walk up into village and Coledale before the rest of the family came!
We first came to a rally here 43 years ago and its still a magical place to enjoy.
On Saturday we dropped eldest grandson at Latrigg car park so he could go up Skiddaw. It was a clear sunny morning although there was a breeze.Other ralliers went off to Keswick to the market or went out on their own walking adventures. In the evening it was BBq time as usual!
Sunday saw the whole family walking up to Coledale through the lovely Braithwaite village. In the afternoon we went to Derwent Marina at Derwentwater and the three grand kids enjoyed Kayaking and row boating whilst we drank coffee outside under umbrellas as it was drizzling rain !We ended the day out with cake and drinks in the Hobartons cafe in Braithwaite which we would highly recommend. Once again we finished with a BBQ! Other rallygoers had even ventured to Carlisle!
Monday we enjoyed with a cooked breakfast cooked on the BBqs before we went to Bowder Stone in Borrowdale with the kids climbing the rocks. We then drove up to Ashness Bridge,Surprise view, and Watendlath where we enjoyed cake, scones, soup and drinks in the cafe cottage gearden.Evening saw another BBQ but our eldest Grandson made pancakes on the Cadac for a Luxury dessert !
Tuesday was time to say farewell at the Flag with drinks and Prizegiving. Everyone commented how brilliant a rally it had been.
Our thanks go once again to the Marshals Mel,Jasmine, Lisa,Mark,Callum and Luca who gave up their holiday for us to enjoy ours!
